A dollop of good company, a smidge of local food, a splash of a signature PitchFork cocktail, and three dashes of business opportunities in the region.
Lack of capital is one of the top causes for the steep decline in startup rates in rural America.  PitchFork offers a uniquely local solution to this challenge by providing a fun, low-key networking and business pitch event for local investors to learn about promising local business ventures.
The goal is to strengthen the connections that will encourage greater investment – large and small – into local economic growth. PitchFork will feature 10-minute business pitches from 2 local projects.  We will work with the business owners with a panel of professional business advisers and consultants to hone their pitches and we will announce the participants ahead of the event.
Local investment offers greater control to a community to shape the local economy.  Individual investing decisions can target the start and growth of businesses that reflect the values of the region.  It is also a very rewarding way connect with business owners on a personal level, strengthen their networks, provide support, and increase the chances that those ventures will survive and thrive.
Attendees should be individuals who seek to invest $5,000 or more in local organizations. If you’re looking for funding for your business or organization, please contact us directly to apply to participate in PitchFork or pursue additional funding sources.
What’s Next?
We are planning to do PitchFork on a quarterly basis. If you know of some promising business ventures looking for an opportunity to share their pitch, email us!  We plan to spotlight a broad range of size, sector and stage of business ventures starting and growing in the Monadnock Region.
